Best sushi I’ve had in Japan so far. Enjoyed the guide to eating it properly + the sushi handbook.
Excellent sushi and sake. Friendly service.
Great cosy place for sushi with vegetarian options. You won't be disappointed. Lovely staff too.
Very good sushi. My friends and I really love this place! The staff and chef know some english and they are very helpful. Really recommended!!!!!!!
This place was on the favorite places we ate ate while in Japan. It is a super convenient location right next to the train station. We got the fatty tuna rice bowl and the tuna sushi rolls and both were super fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice and easy to communicate with they do have an English menu so it is easy to choose and point at the food you want.
This is a lovely gem of a restaurant. Staff was very nice and service was prompt. Decor in this small establishment was clean and spare but with a lovely aesthetic. The sushi lovers in our group gave the sushi high marks. Our kids sat at the counter with grown-ups at a table. The chefs working behind the counter were very kind to our children. All in all, a really nice experience. Highly recommend.
One of the best sushi I had in Japan. People are kind and they will show you a nice guide to the not-so-well-known customs of eating sushi. Definitely worth trying, and actually not expensive at all for the quality of food (you can eat for about 2k yen/person)
Very fresh sushi but definitely not for the budget traveller. The staff was all extremely friendly. I am disappointed I chose a more simple dish but that gives me a reason to return there for a second round!
Its always fun to find a grade-a level restaurant in the middle of nowhere. If you're around, definitely check it out.
One of the best sushi we had in our trip to Japan, freshness and delicate taste, perfect presentation and the place is just beautiful. Unfortunately we didn't have the experience of a great service as everyone described on their reviews or it was would have definitely be a 5 start review.I still really recommend it, it might just have been bad luck for us.
This charming place serves delicious sushi! So good that I came back for the second time within 3 days! The special set is a must try. The staff are very friendly, and English menu is also available.
Fresh and delicious sushi. Highly recommend!
Quality sushi & friendly service. Superb Toro sushi. Highly recommended.
Superb sushi in a lovely peaceful restaurant, very friendly owners who also brought a book to the table explaining all the different types of sushi and their origins in Japan.
This place lived up to the hype of its reviews. Absolutely outstanding sushi, the experience was wonderful with lovely staff and a beautiful restaurant. The combination box was full of flavours, some I'd never tried before. It's not cheap as such but it is easily worth the price paid and then some. If you're in Nikko and eat sushi you should visit this restaurant.
Exceptional food, great regional dishes, we ate there two nights in a row.
Absolutely amazing. For the record, it does not open for all day. The dinner time starts from 1700.
Very good sushi. Nice cosy place.
Thank you very much for Delicious Sushi..!!
Found this place using the locals guide in Google trips. I ordered the special set, and I was really happy I did. I don't use soy sauce and everything tasted delicious. The price was about 30 dollars, and was well worth it. Free WiFi and great bathrooms. Good for small groups of 2-4.
Best sushi I've had. The quality of the ingredients really shone through. The owner is a delight. He speaks excellent English and took the time to explain details about the different sushi and sake. Cannot recommend strongly enough
Meow! Very refined atmosphere with lots of choice of food - sashimi, chirashi, maki, box set, fried items. Getting some good fish, meow! Good selection of alcohol too. Pretty good quality for an in-land area. Service is very professional. Had a great time here - great food, great drinks, great service. Still licking my whiskers, meow! 4 paws! 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Very good yuba sashimi. Everything was well presented and so fresh.
Best sushi place to try, even tasty than in Tokyo, it's like you're in the heat of Japan. The place is Zen and quiet, and gives you an awesome local experience. A little expensive, but it's not on the sea shore and it's understandable. If you can afford it, you should definitely try it. The staff is welcoming, the chefs have experience and they deliver quality. When you get out, you will feel refreshed, calm and have a lot of energy after a relaxing meal. Even in Autumn, Nikko and the local experiences are totally worth it, as there are less tourists and it's not very crowdy.
Great sushi here. There is a large tatami room off to the side. Don't be discouraged if sushi bar is full.
The best sushi I have had in Japan. Worth visiting Nikko if not but to try this place. Super friendly staff and smiling chefs. Try the yuba and inari. Both delicious. The chirashi was out of this world. Cannot recommend enough. They accept Amex too.
Great sushi. Friendly staff. Nicely located. What more do you want?
Nice people. Delicious sushi. Not too expensive, but not for the low budget traveler.[Please "like" if you find this review helpful]
Nice sushi plates, friendly environment, great miso soup
Tiny clean decent food
This is exactly what a sushi restaurant should be. Great fish, great service, polite, clean and not rushed. My lunch was ~$60 USD and that includes sake and a large bottle of beer. For the quality and quantity, I think this is very reasonable. The owners also spoke enough English that being understood was not a problem at all. I've eaten sushi at many restaurants in Japan, and this is one of the few I would absolutely go back to.
sushi very good taste.owner can speak englishcan go with the big group.if you not prefer wasabi, dont forget to the them to separate. but sawabi not much spicy.parking lot at the backcredit card accepted.
Best sushi ever served by a loving family.
Friendly chefs, nice atmosphere and sushi's pretty good but a bit costly.
I thought It would be hard to get good sushi in the mountains. I was so wrong.I ate toro maguro and this was one of the best I have eaten so far. The quality of their rice, which is not cooked using a rice cooker but is made traditionally, is also amazing. The staff was extremely nice and could communicate very well in english. The menu is also translated in english and they even had detailed explanations on how to eat sushi for tourist :-)
Probably the best sushi in nikko. Small intimate setting and personable sushi chef who personalized our meals by request with several off menu items.
If you visit Nikko this sushi place is a MUST. I had the bluefin tuna sushi and it was spectacular, top 3 meals I had in Japan during my trip. The place is very nice too.
An excelent place for sushi!
Tasty sushi, the restaurant is beautiful and clean, staff is very nice, they also accept cards which is a plus.
Great sushi and friendly staff.
Delicious sushi at an affordable price. Staff are very pleasant and can speak some English if you do not know Japanese
So happy I came here during my day trip to Nikko. I ordered sushi and yuba and everything was delicious. I was even shown a quick video on how yuba is made, which I really appreciated. Lovely experience here, I highly recommend it.
The presentation of the food is very neat in Japanese style. High quality food excellent presentation. Family run business of several generations. Tuba is very authentic. Highly recommended.
The most delicious sushi I have ever tried.
Food was delicious, staff really kind 5/5
Small place and friendly service, OK sushi. Some of the order got mixed up in translation but overall a nice experience. The seafood miso soup was one the best I had.
So Delicious.
This restaurant is over rated. Every is just normal. If you are looking for a reasonable price at normal quality is fine. But don’t expect anything special from other restaurant, they don’t have.
Absolutely delicious sushi, and lovely dining room with a tatami floor and low tables. The chef provided some advice about how to enjoy the food in the proper way, and the waitress was very nice. Top place to eat sushi in Nikko.
Nice and cozy place. The food is amazingly tasty and the staff is very friendly. Tempura shrimps are good sized and cooked perfectly. Sushi is incredible, Wasabi didn't burn and added the perfect taste. Highly recommend to everyone who happens to visit Nikko.
